Fashion Inspiration: Fancy Necklaces with Plain T-Shirts

Happy New Year, lovelies! Hope you all enjoyed a joyous and safe holiday. I’ve been thinking about some fashion styles and looks that I want to try in 2013 and at the top of my list are fancy statement necklaces paired with relaxed, plain t-shirts. I love the combination of dressed up and dressed down and the juxtaposition between the two pieces. Also, truth be told, at heart I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and being able to be comfy and also have fun with fashion at the same time is totes appealing.

I think simple stripes or solid colors work best so you can really let the necklace shine and play up the contrast between the two. The necklines don’t necessarily have to coordinate either. Part of the fun of this look is pairing two things that aren’t “meant” to go together.

Striped shirts and sparkling statement necklaces, what more could a girl like me want?

I love this look! Sure wouldn't hurt to have a cool Rodarte t-shirt to go along with my statement necklace :-)

  1. [...] 5. Plain T’s and statement necklaces. One of my favorite (and one of the easiest) trends for the season is big, plain t-shirts or sweaters in a neutral colors paired with a regal-esque statement necklace. I see a lot of these necklaces for sale for $30 or more, but in reality, you can grab them on eBay for less than $10, which is great too considering I don’t see them staying trendy for very long. No matter what, they’re a great way to trick cozy sweaters into being fancy. WIN. (Photo courtesy of TheStyleUmbrella.com) [...]
